I haven't but if you get any info via PM please share with me. I'm looking at trying to do the same thing as well.

I believe that is the same setup that Mike4cobra uses but there was thread about this subject recently. I'll see if I can find it.

Well this is likely not the info you were looking for but it was the only tread I could find on thec subject: [url "http://www.bigfishtackle.com/forum/Utah_Fishing_Forum_C55/gforum.cgi?post=726004;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;page=unread#unread"]http://www.bigfishtackle.com/forum/Utah_Fishing_Forum_C55/gforum.cgi?post=726004;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;page=unread#unread[/url]
Like I said before shoot Mike4cobra a PM, he has a system like your talking about. BF22, Are you running lss-1 or just two graphs. This will make a difference but if you are just linking two hds's nothin but a thing chickin wing. RW if you want my opinion we could talk pros and cons of linking the units.
#1 the pro is that you share waypoints. thats it..... #2 the cons,if you are like me and use your graphs for separate things, such as graph at the helm for navigation and graph at the bow for fishing. then the ? really becomes do u want to clutter your screen with useless info, such as saved routes from one to the next or navigation vs fishing. If you leave them separate they carry their own info plus you save cash on a cable. Woo I should not be sharing this on a public forum. I will talk to you later, next time I see you we will have a little chat. I could give you more reasons on this if you need bro. [signature]

You share alot more than waypoints.... The biggest and most important is you share sonar data. If your screen is cluttered than thats a result of how you overlay your data on the screen. One nice thing is to be able to pop a way point from the bow then use your helm sonar to get back to it the next day, or see something you like while at the helm and mark it then come back over it with the bow mount. You are killing the functionality of having two HDSs whithout letting them talk to each other. You can still seperate the two and make them work independent while networked the only see the info you want shared.

@mike, I Agree with waypoints and that is why I called it the pro. And imho that is the only pro, Also that Is why I called it my opinion, I use my Graphs linked because I have lss-1 that is the only reason. If I did not have that feature I would not link them. Like I said I do not care about the helm when I am at the bow, as long as I have a waypoint to mark the area of the structure that is all i need in back. I do not need pinpoint at the helm,Except to get me safe up or down a river, I do not fish from the back. The front is a completely different tool Imho and the style I fish. I do not disagree with you just different styles of fishing.

I am not currently running lss (yet). That will be another discussion with the wife. I appreciate all the info. I am gonna go play with it tomorrow at Utah lake.

Thanks M4C! I am linked them up because I really want them to share the waypoints for sure! I appreciate your input. Gonna go play on the lake tomorrow with it. If I have already created waypoints on the helm unit before I linked the two will it transfer them to the front still?

All I can tell you is that when you link with lss be ready for a PITA. so do the homework first. It disables temp and only allows for one transducer reading on both units at a time. Not mentioned in the book either, now with that said I have never linked without lss so just watch for issues.

If both units are powered up then they will share waypoints in real time. Or... if you have them on the helm and want them on the bow then all you have to do is fire up the helm sonar while the bow sonar is on and they will send each other the updated info. Not only will it share waypoints but it will share the icon you used to create it. I use the rock looking one for sructure and the grass looking one for weed beds and ect.... It definatly helps me remember why i marked a waypoint there in the first place. I have over 2000 waypoints saved already, and I know what 95% of them are by the icon. another tool I am going to start using is the ability to change the color of the icons. I will choose a different color for every month and mark every time I catch a fish. That will help patern them from year to year.
The waypoint sharing over ethernet also shows the depth you were at when you marked the waypoint. Also, if you have ever had a transducer crap out on ya while fishing then the sonar sharing is a welcome feature. Lose the bow signal.....? Just switch to the aft. If I was you though I would lie to the wife and tell her the new sonars wont work without the lss1 and you cant return open electronics[ ![]() [signature]

My lss-1 will be here Tuesday just in time for Powell. So, if I read this right, you can use the lss-1 on more than one hds?

Assuming you have nothing else on you network (radar, weather, ect.) then you can use it on up to three hds gen 1 or 2. I have two hds on the dash and one one bow and they are all networked to the lss1 .

Very nice. We might have to hook up so you can show me how to interpret everything.

I have been searching a lot of forums for direction too. Just installed HDS-5 and trying to get sonic hub to work (had to send unit back to Lowrance because of no power to speakers)??? Hopefully, get it back in a week. I did find out for the NMEA 2000 network, I had to buy a power kit, because it must be powered to communicate.

Gotta think of your NMEA2000 network like an individual component instead of a cable or two that hooks stuff up. Make sure you are using the resistor ends or you will fry components. I love my sonic hub, coolest non fishing thing for a fish finder yet! A good buy too is the lgc4000 gps receiver. Updates way quicker for slow presentations and it finds 7 satellites in my garage with the door down. [fishon]
