I struck up a deal with my wife, if I did a bunch of yard work for her on Tuesday, then we would go fishing Monday. We headed out Monday, but got a late start. Didn't get to the dam until about 10. There were 2 other people there, but they didn't seem to be having huge amounts of success. I threw a worm on my boys pole first and chucked it out there, then my wife's, then got myself set up. While I was trying to get mine setup, the little buggers kept nibbling at my son's pole. I kept trying to set it for him so he could reel it in, but they were being a bit too quick for me to drop my pole and get over there. About 2 minutes after I finally got my pole out there, my son had one that I was able to set the hook for him and he landed it. It wasn't huge, but he said he only wanted small fish. It was also a proud day for a dad because he has now officially caught something I haven't, a Whitefish.
We all kept getting little hits for about another hour, then it slowed down. I think they must have been biting the hooks sideways or something because we missed quite a few. We ended up leaving about 1:30 with the final score,
Mom: 2 Brookies
Son: 1 Brookie, 1 Whitefish
Dad: 1 Brookie
Sorry, no pics this time.
Its always a good day when your son outfishes you
