So the wife and I hit the lower Weeb last Sunday and we had a record day, 38 fish drift fishing flies size 18 midges and haresears. You may view some fish catching fun on our youtube account...
Edit: links to youtube are not allowed, see link for new method:

If anyone would like to learn how to fish this way just ask and watch the videos. This type of fishing is great for kids as well and helps walk them and others into fly fish. [fishin] I see I can not post links, oops sorry you can find us by going to youtube "Flyfishingfamilybums"

Midges on the weber is like fishing with dynamite, sometimes I question whether it is fair. Good job

So this is the 9' rod that can use a center pin or a spinning reel. You are using mono, right, so are you casting a fly and if so, how?
Is this really fly fishing?

Yes mono and a spin reel, 9 foot drift/noodle rod from Cortland, a float, barrel swivel, two lb leader, main fly hears ears 12, 14 with a dropper midge of your choice in size 18. Just as fly rod fishing, you cast up stream a let the gear float down to you and past to about the 1 o'clock position reeling in slack line as you go. Is this fly fishing? Well yes in away, your using flies, and an indicator just as any fly fisher would do...

A lot of little trout in that pool. If you had swung a streamer or lure out there next to the bank you would have probable picked up at least one descent size one.
