[#0000ff]About the main reason I use the line and fish arrows are to recover the arrow...not the carp. I love to shoot them with regular arrows and target tips but unless you are shooting them in shallow water and an open field you risk having them run off with your "tags". Whenever I am shooting without line attachments I take a long handled net clipped to my back to help scoop those thieving rascals. Almost impossible to chase them down and catch them otherwise. And if they just swim out into the open lake, the only option is to follow them. Water is still a bit cold for that.[/#0000ff]

Al's has em too, and Smith and Eddie's - depending on where you're at. They seem to run about $15 each. Wouldn't mind finding a cheaper option, but at least the arrow should be re-usable that way. Though....
Seem to be getting a lot of line twist in my reel - it's a Zebco 808. Might be I just have to lose some line after a time, and get to fresh spool?
I think unless you get a clean heat-shot, they're not likely to show much in the way of ill-effects from most blows. Purdy hardy beasts from all I've seen.
Cracks me up when they are suction sucking the shore. Look forward to finding one halfway out of the water, and sticking him good!
Anyone know what inspires or motivates those bugelmouths to leap the way they do? Seems like it'd take a lot of energy to heave those fat bodies into the air. Always seems to come in pair or trios of jumps too.

[cool][#0000ff]Quite a few species are known to become more "aerial" just prior to spawning. One theory is that it helps loosen up the eggs in the ovaries to make it easier to download the whole lot.[/#0000ff]

Hmm - so kinda analogous to walking your pregnant wife around the block to induce labor?
So maybe next time we stick it to a fat carp, could "help" her out - by "loosening" up some of those eggs. Got it!
I need to sharpen my knife!
Would love to time it and stick on in the air. Like those flying carp hunters... talk about crazy!
