First trip to Lowell this year. We had a late start, didn't get on the water till about 11:30 AM. We launched at the upper dam and tried fishing there for about half an hour to 45 min. Mostly tried drop shotting, with no success. We then ran down to the south and of the lake. I haven't fished there in about six years, we were throwing quite a few different patterns with no success. About one o'clock the wind seemed to pick up a little, putting a good ripple on the water. Soon after my sister hooked into a nice one. It got tangled up in some brush, but luckily we could reach him with the net. Didn't take any measurements or weigh it. It was about 18 inches long with a chunky belly. I would probably guess it was between three and 3 1/2 pounds. She caught it on a white Zoom Hornytoad.
