starvation questions
#1
Going to starvation for my first. Anyone have advice on where to camp. I know they have 4 primitive campgrounds and I was planning on one of those. Most of our fishing will be from shore. Would like to get into some walleye and we will have a canoe to troll around in. Fishing tips and camping spot suggestions would be great!

[cool][#0000ff]It is still early for good walleye fishing...especially from shore. But some of the best early walleyes come from the Knight Hollow area. That is the primitive camping area at the far NE corner of the lake (see maps)...where the river diversion empties into the lake. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]If you can camp along the south shore...or near there...you can walk along the rocky banks and pitch plastics or crankbaits. I have caught some good walleyes right next to shore there as they get into their post spawn feeding mode. That is also a good spot to fish for trout...some big rainbows cruise that shoreline. Also some smallmouth when the water gets warm enough for them to think about spawning.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Indian Bay is also a good early season spot for trout and sometimes perch and walleyes. Again, the water temps will determine whether or not the fish are in shallow enough to reach by casting from shore.[/#0000ff]
