I have been trying to get the same information for the last 2 years. I still have very little to go on. I did find a F&G report that said to target them around and into willow creek from mid April to mid/late May when they spawn. After that they apparently diffuse throughout the reservoir. I ran into a couple guys this year that had been out trying to target them and they had had no luck around the willow creek area. I suspect there are some in there, but they are in small numbers. That being said I still have yet to actually see one there myself or have anyone (including F&G) show me a pic with a walleye where the background is identifiable as likely being Ririe. Let us know if you have any luck though! And get photos!

We were up there sat and drug a worm harness through the willow creek arm. No bites but marked quite a few piles of fish. Maybe we should have tried to jig for them? I too am looking for "proof" that they're actually in there [Tongue]

What is the temp right now? In SFCR it has to be at least 63 before I can catch them. I got a few last weekend at SFCR but it was VERY slow.

If you guys want to know how I catch them at SFCR PM me. I don't know if it will work at ririe but it should. Ron

Hey there... Have not been able to make it out yet but did manage to get the boat licensed yesterday! Perhaps Friday or Saturday I will make it out... gotta get some perch to fry up!

I have been asking aroud and have not heard a thing about anyone catching walleyes in Ririe this year. Not sure what the water temps are out there, but am pretty sure they spawn in low to mid 40's.

As far as tactics are concerned, I have not yet had the opportunity to tangle with an Idaho walleye so I am not sure what works best around here. I do know that back in S.Dak, we would start early with jigs and then later on move to dragging worms or leaches and pulling/casting plugs.

Good luck!

To send a Private Message: Click on the person's username. That will bring up their profile page. On the profile page look towards the top in the middle right above where it says " So and so's private profile page" There should be line that says "Send a Message" Click on it and write your message in the box.

Good luck!
