I used to catch 4+ pound large mouths in San Diego using a DT-10 all the time. Had some of my best days by far throwing that lure.
But it hasn't done me justice in Idaho like it did the warm water bass. I still carry every color though

That's just it, I don't have any one go to lure. I let the conditions and the fish dictate what I will be using. I always have half a dozen rods rigged up with different things when I'm fishing and typically change things out several times during the day. I'm a junk fisherman in the worst kind of way, but I think that's what keeps it interesting for me. I should probably try to focus on one thing more, but I'm always thinking, if one lure worked, then how will this other lure work?

The only largemouth lake I have fished for quite a few years is Lake Lowell. In the past, when I fished Owyhee, Strike, and traveled a lot fishing Toledo Bend, Lake Powell, Lake Mead, etc. I carried huge amounts of tackle. Now I only carry weedless plastics and a few spinnerbaits, Chatterbaits and buzzbaits.
When wading I have a chest pack with some worm hooks, plastic worms, frogs, and swimming baits.

A lot depends on the lake I'm fishing. A lake like Lowell with a lot of trees and brush, I use Zoom horny toads in watermelon/red but I don't swim them I flip them into the trees like a jig. If that don't work I'll switch to sweet beavers.
Lakes like Owyhee or CJ, I use nothing but a jig with a Yamamoto twin tail trailer. I'm stubborn and rarely switch to anything else but when those baits especially the jig won me Angler of the Year for 4 years in a row in our club, it is hard to try anything else.
I also use the jig for Smallies too.
