Went to the Pig yesterday (Saturday) and caught a limit of wee kokes. Depth was around 5 to 15 feet, orange wedding rings and orange dick knight spoons worked best. Slow enough trolling speed to make the blades spin was what we did.

Ha ha I think we figgered out how to catch the kokes from shore if y'all don't have a boat. Just cast the wedding rings with light spinning tackle. Add a small weight to cast out farther.

TDT, you know I like you, and really love your reports. I'm really not a prig, but my kids read this forum, and I'd be very grateful if you could try not to use cusswords in your posts. I'm not offended for myself, but for maintaining the family-friendly atmosphere. Thanks TDT.

So you were shore fishing, not trolling then? Nice
I gotta get me up to the pig. Those look like some nice silver-backs. Bet they're way pink on the inside!
Ya gotta wonder about the boyz naming lures some days!

I worked for Larva Lace Worldwide (fly tying material) way back when and had an interesting run-in with Dick Knight and their owner. No need for details, but I will say that I wouldn't do business with that company if I was starving to death and their lures were the only thing on the planet that would catch fish. I haven't thought about that company in 10+ years, and honestly thought they went out of business.

We trolled but also drowned some worms near the inlet, but got bored and started casting the w.r. from the anchored boat because nothing was hungry for garden hackle. Sure enough some of the kokes jumping around us took the w.r. well we kept casting the trolling gear for a while and caught about ten or so.

Oh, so orange dick knight lure is really an orange, Dick Knight lure. That's what I thought originally.

They tasted great. I brined them in sea salt and then smoked them with cherry wood. You're right those little guys can be hard to find but when you find them it can be a blast!
