Went crappie fishing at Cottonwood yesterday. Figured it was going to stink due to the cold snap this week, but went anyway just to get out. Unfortunately, I was right about the fishing. Caught four crappie and a teeny smallmouth in nine hours of fishing. On the plus side, they were pretty big crappie, all between 12 and14 inches. Lots of people at the campground, but hardly anyone was fishing. It was a bit windy, so there weren't many boats out. Only saw a few in the slips, and didn't see a single one launch or go in or out. I expected to see a lot more activity.

If you're considering Strike this weekend and you don't have a boat, I'd go elsewhere.

i went out on the lake in my buddys boat friday. we hit black sands boat ramp about 4:30 and was the only boat there we fished till about 9pm fishin was slow we hit 2 places that were decent with small bass. Only landed about 3 over 12 inches we boated about 40+ total bass. no crappie. When we got back to the ramp we were still the only truck in the parking lot. I have never been the only boat there before. I blame the weather. still had fun being out.
