Later this morning, Coastal Conservation Association of Louisiana , in coordination with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Cajun Maritime and Road Rock Recycling will host a media tour of the new recreational reef under construction in Calcasieu Lake. Boat space will be made available for members of the media as well as public officials interested in visiting the construction site.

LDWF and CCA Louisiana partnered to begin construction of the 10 acre artificial reef with approximately 10,000 tons of recycled concrete road material in Calcasieu Lake. This project was designed to create new marine habitat and support recreational fishing in Southwest Louisiana. The structure will be known as "The Brad Vincent Reef" after the late sportsman who frequented the waters of Big Lake and whose family has long played a key role in the preservation marine habitat in Louisiana.
