Surprise News--maybe a season afterall
#1
We learned late Friday that the IDFG Commission will be meeting by Conference call on Monday morning--early. There is only one public agenda item--a salmon fishing season. They will also hold an executive session to discuss land acquisition(s). Anyway, the way it looks right now a salmon fishing season will open June 23 on the UPPER Salmon River mainstem from just above the confluence of The East Fork up river to a point just below the Sawtooth Hatchery. At this point, it appears there will not be a salmon fishing season anywhere else on the mainstem Salmon, including the area from Corn Creek through North Fork, Salmon, Idaho, Elk Bend, Challis, etc. That's the way we understand it at this time. IDFG will be issuing a news release immediately following the Conference Call. Stay Tuned!

Have a great weekend and much Happy Fishing! Many Cheers, jp
