New to 'Tubing, I've been lurking the forum for about a month, thought I'd sign up.
I've been away from fishing for nearly 20 years. No boat, living in a big city. Whenever I found a stretch of water to fish, I was elbow - to -elbow, dodging other peoples' kids, dogs, and hooks, so I gave up. I recently moved back to "the sticks", and can get in some relaxing time on the local lakes again!
Also thought I'd get into float tubes, I bought a Togiak this spring. Like my Jeep, I wish I'd bought one when I was 20! [fishin]
Western Idaho here, near Weiser.
Fishing isn't like I remember it though. Time was, you could put any old lure on a line and reel in fish after fish all day, all night.

Welcome to the site Monkeee2002, have you been to our Float tubing boards? If not, here is a link to those boards: http://www.bigfishtackle.com/forum/gforum.cgi?category=66
Also, I'm going to move your post to our Idaho board so the local guys can say hi.

Thanks everyone!
So far I've been getting nuthin' but exercise up at Mann's Creek Res.
I've been trying everything I have, and even bought a few new lures based on info I've collected here.
Hopefully the weather will mellow out & I'll start seeing better weather on days when I make it to the lake.

Mann Creek Res should give you some pretty good trout fishing, I know they keep it pretty well stocked. Also with the Snake River right there you'll be able to keep pleanty busy all summer!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
I've been expecting to get trout, bass & crappie. Haven't had but a few nibbles over my 5 trips up last month. I know they're there, I can see 'em on my radar, lol!
Been thinking about trying live crickets. Might even try running a fly off my spinning reel.
I don't know how to flyfish.... maybe next year I'll look into that. I keep seeing fish "slurp" bugs off the surface.
Even without the fish, it makes for a nice relaxing day when I can just sit back in the 'toob & catch some rays, LoL!

Welcome, in the spring I have had a lot of luck using orange power bait for trout.

My father in law lives in huntington, so he may have more information for you as where to fish. i can pm you info on where he lives if you get over that direction. He is retired and fishes most days, either in the boat or in the float tube. best wishes on catching fish...
Tight lines.
