Going camping up by Baumgartner, which is on the S Fork about 10 miles up stream from Anderson Ranch. Never fished there. Was hoping to bring a boat and play in the lake but that isn't likely now.
I will report on Monday, but if anyone has any opinion on what might work up there and what to expect, any feedback would be appreciated. Otherwise, I will be tossing every spinner I have......

I haven't fished there for years, but expect small fish. Fish the river above the campground and before the bridge. My wife caught her first and only fish there. I guess she got all the fishing excitement she needed for her lifetime in those two days. Worms worked for us.

Yeah I haven't fished up there for 20 years but when we did we always caught fish. We always just did the worm thing also. One trick that worked for me when I was a kid fishing up there was to bobber fish it. It was a 4th of July camping trip and the fishing was tough. I found that if I tied a small stick to my line about 18" above the worm and then drifted it through the riffles it was deadly. Still use stick bobbers in the rivers sometimes.

Interesting idea on the twig. Will give it a try and post-up what I hear/see.
I was hoping to have a new boat to play in the lake with, but it didn't work out.......[frown]

When I use to live in MT. Home I liked to fish the head waters of Pinto Creek above Featherville, little rainbow and cuts, no fisherman and what a blast. It was hard to beat the black Panther Martin with orange spots. It was also one of my favorite deer and elk hunting areas. Smith Creek over by Prairie was also a favorite spot, just had to keep an eye out for the buzz tails.[cool]
