My niece Raleigh has been wanting to catch a catfish so after dealing with trailer issues on Friday morning from the previous evening we decided to head to one of Wiskers holes and try and catch a few. We got on the water with the dropshot and within three casts we boated our first catfish, a healthy five pounder. Raliegh kept reeling, then kept yelling "Help me unlce Patrick"...We kept catching for nealy two hours, until wel had boated 9 blues, 2 channels, 3 whites, and a single smallmouth. Our biggest catfish was around ten pounds. All were caught on Berkley Gulp.
We had a great time, and it helped to remind me that sharing this great sport with your youth is paramount to its survival. I hope to add some pics soon, as I think Taffi took a few.
