Kingfish, Chickamauga, Crappie, 6-24-2012, Grayson & Archie
#1
We fished the first half of the day. Beautiful morning. But, by lunch time it got hot! While checking out the White Bass bite we saw Bassert and his lovely wife enjoying her birthday. Enjoyed a brief conversation with them. Archie caught the only White Bass. After WB fishing for abut 30 minutes we went Crappie fishing.
Grayson caught a 14" TARP Crappie off of one structure. It was a nice solid Crappie. He said "he was just going to keep the backstrap and put the rest into sausage". Congrats to him catching the big fish (cost me a beer though, lol). We searched a little of everywhere looking for Crappie but most were caught in the shade. We ended the day catching 63 with 31 keepers. Best sized fish since this past spring. Most of the Crappie were thick and 11" to 13".
We mostly used BG BS with a tailight. Various colors, 1/32 oz. The water temp got up to 87* before we called it a day, right after lunch.
http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee37...012048.jpg
