Weekend Fishing
#1
Well, the weekend was hot and crowded, but I got some fishing in. On Saturday I decided I needed to get some trout from shore. The reservoir was super low, but I managed to get a feisty bow with a marabou jig.
Later on that day I took a trip to Willard and tried the south dike from shore. A tiny smallmouth slammed a huge rapala. The treble hook barely fit in it's mouth.
Sunday I tried the Uintas, but got the skunk. I got multiple bites, but figured the fish must have been slamming my bobber. Sunday night I tried Willard again from the south dike. When I arrived, I noticed fish surfacing in unison. Then an army of minnows swam by. Seagulls were flying above the water searching for fish. I casted multiple lures into the rising fish, but nothing would bite.

Not a lot of fish were caught, but it was good to get out. Too bad I couldn't get those mystery fish at Willard to bite.

Ya I have learned small fish love big lure. Try imagining rapala shad rap the biggest size i cant remember if it was 3 inches or what but ya i caught a 8 in bluegill off of it. I wish I had pic of it last year XD but no camera Sadly but you never know small fish will take big lures.

Here are some pic of small bass taking big poppers on fly rod. I wish my ipod wasnt busted because i caught a 6-7 in bluegill few days ago on a big popper as well. Small fish still go crazy for big thigs [laugh].

Nice job on the trout by the way
