Snake S. Fork 7/12
#1
Went out w/ friends and some of the higher ups at work the other day on the S. Fork. Floated from Wolf Flats to Heise bridge. Had high hopes w/ all the yellow sallies flying around as we launched. Quickly landed a fair 14" cutty shortly after pushing off. Worked some back eddies and riffles as we went. put flies as close to the bushes and banks as we could. Even had a few fish come up and look really close before turning away. However they weren't in a feeding mood. Tried multiple dries in different sizes. Threw streamers. Finally even went to rubber leg w/ a copper jon dropper. Still didn't do well. Finally landed a white fish and a small brown in the last couple hundred yards before the bridge. Not sure if it was the heat or that the big bugs had been in there earlier in the week and fish were full. Either way it was still fun. Final fish count for a group of 8 was 9 fish to the boat and a handful of missed strikes.
