Rolley Polley Fish Eggs

So.... Whilst bank fishing along the lower Payette River (EXTREME lower, about 1/4 mile from the Snake), I noticed some fish eggs along the bank. I think they were fish eggs, color of salmon eggs, but the size of silica gel granules... Any idea what breed they might have been? They were in about 1 inch of water, but the level in that area has been rising & falling daily, anywhere from several inches to nearly a foot, for a couple of weeks. I was surprised to see any eggs so shallow.
Sadly, no camera with me.....
