Doesn't work for me. Did you use a mobile device to post this link? We see YouTube links all the time but I have never noticed that format. Mobile| [#0033cc]Desktop[/#0033cc]

I finally figured out the problem and posted the correct link in the first post on this thread. In was a mobile verses desktop issue. As soon as I clicked on Desktop, the video worked.

Funchy, great video.

I am going to be in Cairns probably in August 2013 for a couple of weeks. I was wondering if you have any suggestions on easy access shore locations and guides in that area. I believe you are aways away from Cairns but figured I would check o see if you have any tips for that area.

Thanks

G'day Ktrout

There are some top charters in and around Cairns. Check out this link.

Also if you google Port Douglas fishing charters there are some fantastic Marlin charters out of there not to far from Cairns.

As far as landbased fishing options in Cairns go I dont know of any specific areas. I suggest you do some research or fish near others if you do go landbased as it is croc country mate. (Dont be scared off by that just be smart about it)

You will love Cairns, there are great opportunities for chartered fishing trips and visiting the Great Barrier reef for scuba or snorkelling trips. Be sure to get on the Kuranda railway for some spectacular rain forrest views through the mountains. (Not far from Cairns) http://www.ksr.com.au/Pages/Default.aspx

PM me with your cell number if you want more info mate, happy to help out.

Cheers

A lot of variety right at more door step. I live a 2 min walk to the ocean so I am blessed.

Best fish I have caught in that area is a 30inch 10lb Flathead ( same species as the one I was holding up in the last bit of vid). You can catch Mulloway up to about 45 inches around there too (Best I have caught was 35 inches) A lot of fun on light gear. I use 6lb braid and 8lb leader mainly in that area and have landed 10lb fish. There is not a lot of structure they can bust you up on so if you are careful and take your time it is no problemo.

Where I fish is similar to the outer banks area of Nth Carolina. I am protected by Bribie Island so no open surf beach directly where I live (but there is 5 mins drive away.) [Wink] I have bought myself a 13ft fishing kayak and I am ready to head offshore in the exposed ocean to catch spanish mackeral, yellow fin and long tail tuna and snapper. Do a youtube search on "Caloundra Kayak Fishing" you will be blown away. Anyway, always great to stay in touch with you blokes and I hope to have another vid ready for you all soon.
