Deer Creek a Good Choice 7/30
#1
I couldn't decide where to Fish, The Berry, Scofield or Deer Creek. I guess because Deer Creek Boat Ramp is 30 minutes from my Driveway that's where I headed to at 5:30 am.
It was a beautiful warm Morning.

I was on the water a few minutes after 6 excited to try some new Lures and started trolling. With my two poles in the water I headed across the inlet of Wallsburg Bay and to the rocky point of Rainbow bay.

Having no bites in 30 minutes I casted out two poles with Lemon twist Power Bait. In the next two hours I caught 3 Nice Bows that fought hard. The Fish were jumping the whole time I was there and the water was mostly Glassy also.

The action slowed a bit and I got back out the trolling rods and headed along the bank to Wallsburg Bay and caught a little LMB on a Red with Silver bladed wedding ring tiped with a worm.

A little further as I turned into the Bay at the Buoy, My F5 Rainbow Rapala (also tipped with worm) got hit by a 16 1/2 inch Fatty.

It was 10 am and I had my Limit plus, the water skiers were arriving so I called it a day.

Good to hear you pulling them in so close to home.

I've had great luck on the Rainbow Rapalas this year too... particularly up at the Berry....

I haven't tipped them with worms before. I may need to try that.

Thanks TD, I Figured I'd get that wrong. But, he/she did have a big mouth for such a little fish.

[cool][#0000ff]No problem. Lots of folks have trouble telling the difference...and the fish ain't talkin'.[/#0000ff]
