[cool][#0000ff]Okay folks, we are at a crossroads. We either need to put some organization and structure into our little club...and get more active...or it will self destruct. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]LeeC has been busy with putting some things on paper to consider for implementing the organizational things we need. Attached is a PDF file of the club By Laws he has put together. We all need to read this and decide whether or not it is good enough as is...needs fine-tuning...or is not something we want for the club. That will be a part of the meeting on Wednesday August 29th.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We also want to discuss and implement a regular format for ongoing meetings. In addition to necessary club business we will have 1. Fishing Reports 2. Water of the month 3. Fishing technique of the month.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]It is also suggested that we bring in guest speakers from the Utah Angling community...such as DWR biologists, recognized angling specialists, members of other angling groups, etc.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]In addition to semi-annual tackle swaps we can also have meetings devoted to fish handling and cooking, tacklecraft, tube and toon mods, etc.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We also plan to have more frequent "floatillas" with on the water socializing and maybe shore lunch afterwards. Our first planned event was scheduled for September 7 (Friday) at Starvation. But that turned out to be a bad idea since there will be heavy prefishing boat traffic for the big walleye tournament the next day. So we need to either change the venue or the date. It has been suggested that we simply move it to Deer Creek. DC has been fishing well for most species and is closer to the Wasatch Front. We can talk about that at the meeting.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Bottom line: Anybody who wants to remain a member of the club and see it grow and improve needs to attend our next meeting...and the one following in September when we will be voting in officers and approving by laws. There will be no absentee ballots.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]We have a total of 24 membership applications for the club. A few are non BFT members and some of the applicants have not attended our last couple of meetings. In short, we have been going backwards and not forward. [/#0000ff]
