Norwich City Council to focus on fishing

Fishing will be the main attraction for the Norwich City Council at its Monday meeting.
Several angling-related items are on the agenda, including a symbolic vote in favor of an earlier opening day of fishing — a move being considered by state regulators.
For months, the Harbor Management Commission has been working on initiatives aimed at raising Norwich’s profile as a sports fishing destination.
Officials say it’s a lucrative tourism and entertainment market that may bring thousands of dollars in sales tax and other revenues into city coffers, if promoted correctly.
Along those lines, City Manager Alan Bergren will recommend the appointment of Lauren N. Miner to the Harbor Management Commission.

Great idea, with everyone running there in the spring for stripers, they should try to bring in more money. Need parking badly though.
