WOW, I post and head out on a trip and get hell for posting...

We had days of over 200 fish and 10 marlin in one day as well..

I agree nice yellowtail. That size is the best for eating because at several months of age they haven't had a chance to accumulate too much mercury yet. But why are the fish just going on deck that you're keeping? Despite the deck pics I'm still hungry for yellowtail- maybe I'll run by Costco as I don't know when I'll get my next chance to catch any. Looks like a great trip.

Did you slice a chunk out of that tuna right on the boat? I'm afraid the temptation would have been too great for me. A little soy sauce, perhaps some ginger and wasabi- mmmmm! Nice pics.

The ones you see on the deck are the ones just caught, we would get 3 to 8 hookups at a time..

I had one on that was even bigger, it broke my rod and straiten out the hook at the boat..

We boated over 50 yellow tail but we only kept 4..

We had it more then a few times, ceveche as well..

Yellowtail are Bulldogs, we catch them in the rocks and kelp. Need to button down the drag and have a tug a war

We fished the kelp and got lots of fish..

We fished for the Calico's for two days and got them from 7lb on down and 200 per day..

They would hit a bare jig hook at times as well..

Cliff, nice pics! For those of us out in the sticks who have to shovel coal into a firebox to run the steam generator to get electricity and get the internet on a mountain top modem..please shrink your pic size. I would appreciate it. I will never get that 2 hours back. No kidding..I have to do that...well pretty close.[]

Where were you fishing? US waters or Mexican? It looks like south towards Ensenada or maybe in the Sea of Cortez.

If US waters... the word is out that Dodo's are being caught about 20-30nm off Oceanside. Did you see any paddy's?

I'm thinkin of flyin' down for the bounty with an arsenal of 10-13 wt rods.

I don't want to hot spot, but we did go out of Ensenada and went south about 200 miles..

The pictures are small its the fish that is big..[sly][]
