We got their early. Tried to get some big cats around the reeds at Lindon. We got zip, just 1 small white bass and lost another. So then we moved to bubble up and got about 8 in an hour. At least we didn't get totally skunked. Any tips on where to get the cats anyone? Your info would be greatly appreciated.
Has anyone fished the knolls lately?

[cool][#0000ff]Fishing for cats has been good...off and on. Some days they are in shallower water near the reeds. Other days they move out into 4-5 feet of water. Wind is a big factor. And the low water levels don't help much. But the fish are being caught in all the usual areas...in much shallower water than last year.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I hit the bubbleup last week and caught lots of white bass around the middle buoy. I also kept out a line with small white bass for bait and caught about a dozen channel cats up to 24" in the same area...but just out a bit away from the buoys. Also caught several cats on the jig and worm combo I was using for white bass...right in the buoy line.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]I have been trying to get in a trip to the Knolls for a checkout myself. Haven't heard any reports lately. But in years past it usually produces well around the first of September. There is a wide range of fishy habitat there and you can usually find a couple of holding spots.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Probably won't get to hit it before Labor Day but will definitely work it soon thereafter.[/#0000ff]
