So I just found out this morning that I am going on a trip this weekend to Henry's lake.
What are the best flies for this time of year? I have fished the opening in the spring before, but have never gone late summer like this.
Thanks for any help.

Small leech patterns in light browns or black are great. You should have some scuds and light olive crystals and light olive crystal buggers and then throw in a few Halloween colored patterns.

ABSOLUTELY! Orange and Black. The Hot Chocolate caught me the biggest trout of my life "IN" September.
May I say also, Renegade, Renegade and Renegade. Seriously, this is a Snail fly and killer. Add the Purple Showgirl as that lake is full of 1" and longer leeches. Also #12 Haresears (flashback, traditional and Bead Head) I did real well with the Brookies with Prince Nymphs. If you want to try Chironomiding, Barber Pole and Ice Cream Cones.
And DON'T FORGET THE CAMERA!!!!! please[laugh]

Pretty cool. My Henry's box doesn't look anything like that...LOL
Chesterfield has it's own selection of flies for me, as does Daniels and a couple others. Each lake does have it's favorites but they are not the same. I guess that is what keeps it interesting, but also confusing[crazy]
Be nice to have ONE box[cool] Let alone, one that organized...

Thx for the kind words....however this photo was taken on a rare day when the flies are all lined up, dry and including fresh tied replacements. After a long weekend on the water, the box is quite different looking and a bunch of the flies sitting in fly drying medium.
