Bear River last night
#1
I hit up the Bear near Corinne last night from about 9 to 2. We tried fresh carp meat and worms. I caught 4 cats from 12 to 16 inches. My buddy got one small cat and a carp.

My question is, does anyone have much success here. It looks pretty good with all the structure in some of the bends. And, are there other species of fish such as crappie or bass, or do you have to go further upstream?

Thanks,

Justin

There are big cats throughout the river system but I've always done better below Corinne. When I had a smaller boat we would launch at Corine and go down river to the a area right above the Bird Refuge, there are some deep holes there that always hold bigger fish. Were you fishing from shore? I can't say I've ever caught crappie or bass that far down the river but I'm sure they are there, all the panfish I've caught in the Bear are up river but then again, I down usually use small baits on that lower section .
