Gander Mountain Takes Nearly 10,000 Kids Fishing at Minnesota State Fair
#1
ST. PAUL, MN --- As clean-up continues after a record-setting 12-day run at the Minnesota State Fair, the numbers for Gander Mountain's popular exhibit are turning heads. Gander Mountain's free fishing pond, a collaboration with KIDFISH, hosted an average of 800 kids per day during the fair, and well over 1,000 on some weekend days, meaning that an estimated 9,600 kids got to try fishing, for free, during the Great Minnesota Get-Together.

The Gander Mountain exhibit, which anchored the popular North Woods area at the fair, proved to be one of the must-see attractions in 2012, with approximately 100,000 free paper walleye, mosquito and deer antler hats distributed, and local television personalities like Rusty Gatenby of KSTP, Dave Schwartz of KARE, Dawn Stevens of KMSP and Frank Vascellaro of WCCO trying their hand at fishing with the kids.

Preparations and planning are already underway for the Gander Mountain State Fair exhibit in 2013.
