First DC trout from the shore this season
#1
Throughout the summer I've been hitting Deer Creek pretty hard just fishing on the rocky shores for Bass and Perch in the mornings before work. And it's been a great summer for fishing that way -- of about 20 trips I was skunked once and usually came home with multiples of keeper-sized fish (12" and over) in 2 hours of fishing.

This weekend the morning bite never showed up and about 3 casts before I was going to call it my second skunk trip, I reeled in a just-under 14" rainbow trout on the spinner line.

It's good to add the trouties back to the target list.

Sounds like it has been a good Summer for you. You are getting into the same problem I'm having with the warm water fish. Summer pattern is over and I'm having to learn new methods to catch fish before the Fall pattern take hold. Good luck on figuring out something that works there at DC.

Yup, I'd say that is definitely true. My next trip up there needs to be to a new location.
