Do any of you know what they are doing too the Dams to make the water level have to be so low? I mean Echo isn't even assessable with a boat I bet. East Cayon has no boat ramp but may be able to launch (as of last week not sure of not days) and from what I heard Rockport is the same way very very low. Anyone know what is wrong with them?

There doing sysmic work on echo, and others have been drawn down from the draught. Causey is just as bad. Gonna be an interesting fall winter to see what happens with the ice season.

Drought plain and simple. Very Little snow pack last winter , little rain this spring and the driest August in history all took their toll on our reservoirs. Most of the reservoirs are supplied irrigation for farm crops The low water is the result with the exception of Echo which as stated is having some dam work done.

The Dam at Echo is being repaired as Rileyfish stated, it is suppose to be drawn down to 6% of capacity. Since when does East Canyon not have a boat ramp? Are you talking about Causey? The low water levels happen every 10 years or so, when we don't get enough water in the mountains during the winter.

Yeah - it's a tough year. Most of these reservoirs supply the thirty farms. Though I think they're nearing the end of their watering seasons. But if we don't some precipitation before ice comes. .
I visited some of the Preston Lakes over the weekend, and can tell ya - they're waaay low up there too. Newton also - but sometimes that can almost help the fishing (if they don't drain it DRY) - kinda concentrates the fish, increases competition. . .
Hope we get some good hard chills, or rising waters'll make for some iffy edges come ice time.
