Sometimes a fish really wants to eat but misses the offerings. Had a few interesting hookups with TMs recently. Was able to get this entire hookup on video. So wanted to share as it can't be stressed enough the importance of having the right tackle and C&R tools when fishing for these fish.
Proper tackle and necessary C&R equipment reduces stress on the fish allowing for successful releases and greatly reduces the chance of serious injury to the angler.
OBTW I contacted a Mod and the Mod indicated go ahead and post this video as he didn't have a problem with it.
Hope the BFT video embedding works...at least viewing in the preview mode it worked.

Gotta love the knipex!!!! My bucher cutters have saved me some serious release time and has definitly saved some really beautiful fish..i cannot stress the importance of these tools for proper C&R! Long nose pliers , hook cutters, and a reeeally big net make all.of the difference with these fish! And having these tools ready, camera ready and even a tidy boat really makes a big difference! Great video thx for sharing!

Great C&R video ladies! Was that shot with a GoPro camera on a hat or helmet? Thanks, Fred K.

I have a head/hat strap for the GoPro. GoPro calls it a head strap but works over my hat very well. I also have the chest strap but found my hands got in the way of the action...so always use the hat strap now. [ ][ ]

Great vid. I've never fished for TM before it looks like fun, I'll have to try it someday. You two have got it down to a science. I'm sure you've both put your time in knowing what, when and how. Good luck.

Looks like fun and a great video but I must ask why not use a Muskie Cradle?

We prefer to use the net...cradles are fine but not what we choose to use. Angler preference on the C&R equipment they use and we opted for the large knotless Frabil net. [ ][ ]

Strongly recommend Knipex Hook Cutters. We have the ones that are spring loaded. Cuts 3/0-5/0 treble shanks like a hot knife going through butter (whatever that saying is) and we are just two lil ole ladies with no muscle strength [sly] .Well worth the money. Just goggle Knipex Hook Cutters and you'll find them. Been told you can find them cheaper on e-bay also...[ ][ ]

Couldn't you replace the hooks with barbless ones, or smash down the barbs to save yourself a lot of trouble since you plan to release most the fish anyway?
I'm sure the landing rate would decrease dramatically with these hard fighting fish.
I don't really target muskies, so I don't know, and why I'm asking. The only muskies I've battled have rudely attached themselves to my perch at Newton and Pineview.

Hi K2,
I have the chest harness too, but like you, found that it kept getting in the way. It was a waste of $40 for sure, but I may be able to use it in other (non-fishing) applications. I tried the head strap, but it gave me a major headache, even loose, so I eventually just mounted my GoPro on a spotting scope window mount, and attached it to my windscreen. I've gotten some pretty cool video, but that first hand perspective that you get with the hat is pretty cool too. Take care, Fred.

Hopefully this won't get deleted for a little bit anyways...
Springloaded 69.99 has an item number but probably the number assigned by the store.

Its not really any trouble as we have the proper equipment. Including it allows us to share with folks on what we do and hopefully folks will understand the importance of the right tackle and having the necessary tools. As for fishing with barbless hooks, again anglers preference.

I don't have any problems using the head strap over my hat. Have you tried using a hat with the head strap?
