I've caught a few Peacock bass with dots on them..
they look different than the regular butterfly P's
here are some plus my biggest in bottom picture,got one on camera today too heres the video
I think its a speckled P-bass..I hope so cause already
wrote so in the description,my first on camera if so!

Miami Speckled Peacock bass,got three! one at another canal
I think its a speckled P-bass but nobody has said anything

It's a Cichla Kelberi peacock bass. They are mottled like that. But definitely not the Cichla Temensis or Speckled peacock bass. Temensis has a more elongate body and black markings on the gill plate.
