First post in a while some of you will know me my name on here has changed I used to be on as KYBoy. Fished the Chick for the first time since April on Sunday morning could only fish for about four hours due to other plans with my wife and son. Cam and I put in at 7:15 and of course my running lights would not work so we had to wait a bit to run to the first spot. When we did get there we could only catch a couple of 9.5 inch crappie so we moved on to spot # two a brushpile in 13 foot of water when we found it we started catching crappie on every cast on a count of 3-5. We where fishing 1/16 oz heads with BG monkey milk and pearl white. We caught about 20 fish there most of which where 9-9.5 inchers with every 4 fish or so being 10-11 inches. When the bite slowed we moved to spot # 3 but none one was home so on to spot # 4 another brushpile in 14-15 foot of water there we started catching 10.5-11 inch crappie the bite was good till we hung in it a couple of times. These fish where on a 8 count then a steady retreive, when the bite shut off we moved on to spot # 5 there we fished a dock in 7 foot of water the fish there where all short most about 8 inchers. We caught about 20 off this dock. Water temp varried from 65-69.7 degs. We finished the day with 50 plus with 16 keepers all 10.5 to 11 inches. Not bad for the first trip in 6 months or so looking forward to getting back on the water soon. Got just a couple weeks to fish then off to KY to hunt deer for the rifle season. Then the crappie better watch out I'll be back to fish out the rest of winter.
