Got up to Henrys today too see what is going on. The lake is indeed frozen. Well most of it anyway. Still some open water in the center. Fished at Pintail point this morning and the county ramp this afternoon. Fishing was ok at both spots. Ice is 2 to 3 inches thick. I would like a couple of more inches to make me comfortable. There is an inch of snow on the ice now that could hide trouble spots so be careful. People had fished the state ramp, pintail, and the county ramp. Didnt see any evidence of fishing at the hatchery but the ice looked good. Good luck and be very cautious on the new thin ice. Oh yeah, nightcrawlers on a dead stick did the best for me.

We are going to have a large group there on Dec 5-8th. There is room on the ice for all. I'd even punch you a hole or 2.

I caught one brookie today out of the bunch, as I was getting ready to take its pic and send it back down the hole, one of my other lines started going crazy with another fish, so I put it in without a picture, but that brookie was a fun fight. I did catch a picture of this nice male, most of what I was catching was in this range. I ended up keeping the one in the second picture on account of it swallowing the hook pretty good. I have a size 13 boot, for reference.

whoa! You are just killing me. How is the deck holding up? Looks like the snow is melting from the ITD cam.
I want to go sooo bad, but I don't think I can force myself onto ice under 4 inches thick.

There was 5 inches where I was fishing, but I didn't go out farther than about 80 feet. By the time I left it was 40 degrees, the wind was blowing, one of my holes was flushing and the edge was pretty soft.

Thanks for the update. The forecast looks like temps in the mid-30's to 40 degrees for the next week. Think I'll stifle the excitement til after T-day.[:/]

I wouldn't risk it with forecast this coming week. Highs in the 40's and lows in the 30's I'd stay away.
