MIAMI, FL-NOVEMBER 29, 2012- Homestead-Miami Speedway's uniquely South Florida "trophy"-a Guy Harvey wrapped Bay Boat built by Homestead-based Contender Boats- was recently awarded to Jeff Gordon following his win in the Ford EcoBoost 400 this month.
The high-performance boat, presented to Gordon by Contender Marketing Director Les Stewart Jr., features a twin stepped hull design, a first in the industry for inshore boats. The Bay Boat, wrapped in a design featuring checkered flags, sailfish and marlin, is powered with a 250 horsepower Yamaha four stroke engine.
"Our relationship with Contender Boats started in 2011, and now includes another natural in Guy Harvey," said Homestead-Miami Speedway President Matthew Becherer. "It's fantastic to bring together these two iconic and uniquely South Florida entities that have collaborated to design and outfit this one-of-a-kind boat for our race winner.
