I had this crazy idea to go chase some stripers on the lake yesterday for my birthday. the poor ol boat hasnt seen water in two months or more I guess, so I wasnt really ready. It was out of gas, had stuff piled up on it and dead batteries. We planned to leave by 6, we left by 6:30. Got to the water, backed in and even though I had jumped the battery, nothing....hmm. Pull the boat out and do some investigating and for some reason there is an electrical issue that is causing a major problem, Ill have to work on that before I get cranked up after deer season. We finally get power, warm the motor and we are on our way. We scanned all over Chester frost and never picked up a rod, back to HB, scanned all over the bay, then about a mile of WT creek before stopping to try a few casts at what little bait we found. There was NOTHING eating, no top water activity, no fish chasing underneath as well. It was boring.
We tried a few anchors on some great arches off the main channel for cats, not a sniff. All in all, the weather was nice, but apparently the fish all went on vacation and left town with their kids in tow.
