Offshore and I fished the dogfight together for the first time Saturday. Neither of us had been in 2 weeks so we had to take a guess on what to do. Started out fishing traps & jerbaits on the outside of a long point and only had one there. But it was a striper about 10 lbs on the TN rig. Fun to catch but no help for the dogfight. Went to another grassy point and Offshore caught a keeper Spot & a keeper LM on a trap. Next we moved back in a pocket and had several blowups on a frog but never hooked up. Move further back in the pocket to some more grass and spent the rest of the day there throwing the frog. Probably had 30 more blowups but they seemed to miss it or we seemed to miss them. Color of the frog didn't seem to matter. But we did catch 3 more keepers in there to get our limit. Stopped at one more spot on the way out and culled the spot with another keeper LM on a jerkbait. Ended with a limit for 13.95 lbs for 2nd place so it wasn't a bad day. Dang sure beats working.
