Went to Foster today. Ice was not quite thick enough. It was probably 3". I caught 4 rainbows about 6" long and probably thirty perch that were in the 4 to 5 inch range. Hope the cold weather lasts another week so the ice can get a little better.

Thanks for the report. Been wondering how the other lakes around there are doing? Hoping to hit some ice up there before the new years over.
So where's the big monster perch?!

If foster has ice its a very good chance the others do except onieda. Foster is a pretty warm water and doesnt freeze as fast as the others. You want some nice perch go to onieda, if you can find them you wont be disappointed. During ice season, I avg 10/11 inch perch with the occasional, 12 incher.

Thanks Jeremy. I figured if one capped, the others are all right there too...
was curious if the levels had come up much or any, since the summer run-down. Suppose if might take some winter thaw to really rebuild.
Hopefully they can freeze as fast as they fill! I wanna meet a perch beyond the footlong! Same target for Crappie! Bluegill - I'd be tickled with a 10 incher! Fattie bulls!

So does Oneida freeze later? Also I've heard its good fishing by the dam during ice? I am heading up by Preston this week to visit the parents is there a better place to fish the ice for perch or bluegill?

Onieda does freeze a little later, due to the hot springs pooring into it. Some of the reservoir never freezes. My best luck has been by the camp ground, for perch and bluegill, I would try Johnson for bluegil and glendale for perch.

I noticed some holes on foster but anyon been on glendale. I drove around the lake on last sat and chrismas eve hoping to fish it but it looks like the ice got some snow earlier than the other res. and i didnt dare test it.
