Just rec'd these pics....just two of many....of trout that were caught on Christmas eve at Kootenay Lake. The coloration of the Kamploops trout there is really something. They are averaging 5-10 big guys a day per boat. They pick them up either by trolling deep with a flasher/hoochie or dragging streamer flies on the surface. Enjoy. By the way, the Fish and Game have quit offering bounties for Pend 'Oreille Lake due to a spike in kokanee populations. Since the fish there are Gerrards (Kamploops) and were introduced from Kootenay, we could see fish like the ones attached below becoming more common in creel counts there. In the meantime, we will have to travel 3 hours north to Kootenay. Mike

Yeah, they sport one heck of a red stripe, don't they. We learned that they are unbelievable fighters, also. They fight better than a 30-40 # king. The fishery is getting healthier, and you don't have to worry about it getting fished out, considering you have a l00-mile lake, and can fish most of the day seeing only one or two other boats!! Mike
