nymphing steelhead

Hey just looking for some new flies to tie/try on future steelhead trips. What have you had success with fly wise? colors and sizes types of nymphs?

I was using some steelhead uglies more just as weight to get my egg patterns down- but they ended up catching more fish.

If you are nymphing one of my favorite patterns is a brown heavily weighted rubber legs with a hot pink/orange head. Sounds goofy, but it's deadly in the spring. Also large black midges with hot orange/pink bead head (tungsten is best).
