American Falls Report
#1
Was only able to fish for an hour on the reservoir and followed someone else's lead and re drilled through their holes. Most the reservoir was frozen solid but it was about 2 degrees after the sun started setting. Had 4 poles in the water with meal worms and different colored jigs at different depths. No luck, but I really didnt much effort in. Also dont have any real ice fishing equipment other than poles and auger.

Also fished the river below where I could find open water. Dont walk the ice. Walk from the edge straight to open water. Follow the footprints. River is really low but there are still some nice deep channels. Had a few very nice fish on, but also broke my fly rod...twice. Eyelets kept freezing up. Was using anything from woolybuggers to san juans. Not many fish, but a few great ones.

sorry about cutting out the pic. dont want to piss off the locals

Nice fish. Good fishing down yonder. It is amazing hoe many people get mad over some one fishing in the secret spot and then showing a catch.

Yeah it's true. If it had been in the summer I would have showed it, but with the ice, it's hard to find open water on the river right now. I would suggest fishing the staircase directly next to the dam cause its wide open but it's bait less barbless catch and release and deep! Maybe some sinking line or weights and jigging would do the trick! Saw a beautiful male brown about 26 inches on Monday morning on the river also!
