Lake Casitas tips
#1
Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone has any tips for fishing Lake Casitas. I wont be doing the fishing but my dad is in Oxnard and he hits it up when he can. He told me hes having a hard time catching anything out there. Any tips for him would be appreciated. He said something about an arm called the whalgren arm or something like that. I guess that is where hes going.

That is a spot I haven't really fished even when I was in Southern Ca. although I know many BIG BASS have been pulled out of there. A few articles that are on this site might be helpful though. We had some Pro Staffers (a father, son, daughter that were all a great bunch of anglers/writers and tournament fishers) years ago who fished it often and wrote some great articles for us. Try the link below it has a couple articles that should be helpful:

The Waldliegh Arm is one of the better spots for bigger bass. If you have a good arm and are good with a weedless rig, you can also pull some lunkers out from the bouy line near the dam.

Holler back and I will share some of my favorite "How To's" on getting them.[cool]
