I have a new 3-wt rod on the way and I'll be using it on small stream trout. I do mostly nymphing plus some dry flies. Looking at a Scientific Anglers Mastery series DT-3 line that gets excellent reviews.
Any additional advice, comments or counter recommendations? Thanks in advance.

That could be great. I love the Sharkskin. I have never been a big fan of DT however, but I get that it is two lines in one.
On my two weight I swear by Orvis Superfine. It is a perfect small rod line and great on Bamboo. A smaller diameter so cuts through wind and easy to mend.
Good luck with your new baby. It will be fun breaking it in.

The "reverse it and use twice" aspect is a non-factor. I think DT lines lay out a bit softer than WF tapers, and on a small stream, it's unlikely that I'd get all of the WF part of the line out, anyway.
I'll check out that Orifice offering. Thanks!

Orvis has had their Wonderlines seriously "on sale" due to discontinuing some lately. Not sure if there's any 3's left. I think SA makes 'em, and they'd fit the bill, either in DT or WF. I prefer DT myself.

I know one fisherman that would buy DT then cut it in half and add 45 more feet of Amnesia, because all he used it on was small creeks. He put the second half in a baggie for later.
Most companies DT and WF are the same for that first 30 (give or take) feet. For me it is the running line that I prefer smaller diameter. A lot of the Bamboo have smaller guides.
With all the line manufacturers coming up with specialty lines, DT pretty much stays the same.
As for smaller rods, the Superfine by Orvis or SYLK by Cortland are very popular. Sylk however comes both ways, Superfine, just weight forward.

Thanks all. On the advice of flygoddess (whom I have never met but do admire from her posts here) I ordered the Orvis Superfine.
