Deer Creek report

It was a slow day on the ice, caught one brown at 19" at 8:30 but other than that no bites. By the look of things it was slow for everybody, saw 4 other fish caught throughout 20 or so people.
found water that was 35' deep but could not find some perch. How deep do i need to go to find them?

The ice was 5-6" thick where I fished (red x) the ice is covering the majority of the lake. (see picture)
Thee was one brave soul on the ice by the dam. from the looks of the ice it had to be only 2-3" thick. He had some balls.

One more thing i forgot to add there was only a slight dusting of snow! it was a PERFECT day to be out one the ice.

We fished Charleston and walked all the way to the other side. Slow fishing for us, too. I managed a bow and a brown and lost one at the hole (only marked 5 fish from 830 to noon). The other 3 guys I was with managed 2 bows and 3 browns. Agreed...it was a beautiful day out there. Oh...the deepest water we found was 14 ft.

I was there on Tuesday. Same report, slow fishing. Only caught 5 bows all day. Fished 28 feet deep.

I was just west of the open water on ur map Ice was 4+ fishing was slow tell around 10:30 ish but after that it was a fish on about ever 10 min or so tell about 12 all were 17in to 23in but very lite bites

Ya fishing was really snow today 1 bow 18.5 bow landed and put in bag then almost had a small 13 or 14 " bow that unhooked it self right when I was about to grab him. I was fishing from 11am-5pm. Only got bites at 4pm and 5 pm other then that not a single nibble. As well there was only small groups of fish swimming around and the deepest point I found today was 35" but no perch on the bottom ly.

Many people gave me the crazy eyes because I drilled 10+ hole from close to the island all the way to the other side of the lake.

It was slow, boring, and relaxing day on the ice. That's all I can say ha ha ha.

That is funny! I am like you, I like to drill holes. My personal best was 26 holes in one day at strawberry, and I caught 23 fish. The best part was my father in law sat the whole day at the first hole I drilled and also caught 23 fish! []

I hate using a hand auger and drilling all of those holes. Maybe next year I will buy a better auger and maybe a gas one as well. XD

Was you right or left of the island if you was lookin at it from the highway? Went just right of it today. Not much open water tell you get to the state park and no fish either. Didn't screen a single thing today. Talked with others sayin the same thing.

I was north of the island as well yesterday and it was indeed slow. I fished for about 5 hours, marked a number of fish that wouldn't bite but did manage to get a skinny brown, a fat brown, and 1 rainbow for a total of 3 iced. I used a rat finkie tipped with crawler. Saw some bottom activity that looked like it may have been a school of perch but couldn't get them to play.

I usually find perch in 40+ feet of water. The last time I fished deer creek (not this year) 43 feet deep seemed to be the magic number. I am hoping to do a little perch search up there soon. The rainbows are fun but I would much rather find the perch!
