The Fishing and Outdoor Radio Show announced that Plano/Frabill has been named a title sponsor of their Illinois High Schools Fish Here weekly radio segment.
The segment, now named Plano/Frabill Illinois High Schools Fish Here will highlight the over 230 high schools in Illinois who offer bass fishing as a school activity. The Illinois High School Association sanctioned high school fishing in 2009.
This weekly segment will run until the end of April. Each week high school fishing team coaches will be interviewed and will highlight their team's activities, give recognition to student anglers who are making a difference in promoting fishing in their school and community.
"The Fishing and Outdoor Radio Show welcomes Plano and Frabill as a naming sponsor." Jim DaRosa, executive producer of the radio show. "We all agreed that the young anglers of today are the future of fishing. And our passion to give these kids some recognition on the radio, on our website and in print was welcomed by Plano who now wants to be part of it. We'll be working together closely with the same goal in mind, to help and promote young anglers."
Plano and Frabill has provided quality gear to sportsmen and women for decades and now welcomes the opportunity to support this segment on the Fishing and Outdoor Radio Show, which encourages the next generation of Illinois anglers to get out and enjoy a day on the water. During the radio segment, listeners can look forward to hearing about the fishing experiences of these High School students, as well as their efforts to promote the sport we all love.
Wednesday, January 16, 2013 the first of 13 radio interviews will begin on the Fishing and Outdoor Radio Show. The show airs on WCSJ AM 1550, WCSJ FM 103.1, WSPY FM 107.1, WSPY AM 1480, WSQR FM 93.5 and WSQR AM 1180 live every Wednesday from 6:30 - 7:30 PM. As this 13-week segment continues, the Fishing and Outdoor Radio Show co-hosts Jim DaRosa and Don Dziedzina will work on selecting a single team to be recognized as the Team of the Year and a first runner up. The winning team will be announced mid April.
The criteria for choosing a Team of the Year will include not only their tournament record but more importantly how the team promotes the sport of fishing within its school and community. The Team of the Year will receive much needed fishing equipmentS provided by leading fishing tackle manufactures who sponsor the radio show.
