I own an Eskimo Z51 8" and it works great for me. I picked it up at Cabelas bargain cave for a great price--the stickers on the blades were not even worn off. I wondered why it was in the cave, it gave it a minor carb tune-up and adjusted the throttle cable and it came to life!
Once my auger is warmed up and singing I can plow through 24" in 8-10 seconds.
Jiffy and Strike-Master make better augers, but you are going to spend a little more for them (in most stores). If you are looking for an auger that gets the job done and will save you a couple bucks, Eskimo is not a bad choice. BUT if you want to own it for 25+ years Jiffy and Strike-Master take the ribbon.
