Downrigger help
#1
I am looking to get a couple down riggers but need info on the differences between models as well as what to look for when purchasing one. My main application will be lake trout, but I may use them for kokanee and anything else that is found deep. The main difference I can see is the length of the boom, cable capacity, and electric or manual. Am I missing something? I will be putting them on a tracker targa 18 and the lakes I will be fishing are never more than 150-200 feet deep.

Predator: The following guide is a long time friend and fishing buddy. John Hinson guides on Lake Tahoe for exclusivly mackinaws and kokonee. He is an expert with downriggers where he fishes to over 200 feet with stacked lures and bait.He would be glad to answer your questions. Let me know how it worked out. I have never missd not limiting on nice macks when I fished with him. Check out his web page and give him a call or email.
