Hey I have always wanted to go ice fishing up there.. How is the ice fishing ? I dunno if I can make it to the tournament but i would sure like to go fish there on the ice.. Anything will help.. Do people do pretty well there or just a few nice sized fish? Is access to the lake easy? What about the kemmerer reservoir? any reports on there? Thanks so much for your help..

I've fished this tourney a few times. It is typically slow fishing. One year we never caught a fish and the other two years we only caught 3 fish total. They do offer some nice prizes and you could easily get lucky and win some $$. It is usually very cold so you need a tent unless you're OK in the subzero and windy WY conditions. There is usually quite a bit of snow on the ice, so a snowmobile is a must, as is a power auger since the ice has been at least a foot thick everytime we've been there. Sometimes a 4wheeler is OK, but one year we fished it there was too much snow for a 4wheeler.

Recent reports are that ice is 30" + no slush on south end
but there is slush on the noth end. Fishing has been pretty good have heard of alot more larger fish this year.
Weather should be good Saturday and Sunday morning
with snow later Sunday
