Lost creek 1-16
#1
Decided to drive past my usual trout stomping grounds for somewhere new. Went up to Lost creek res fished 11-5. Fished off the point at the junction of the arms of the lake. Fish seemed suspended at about 15 feet of water, bottom depth was 40+ feet.
20 little bows and a little cuttie between 2 of us. Light nibbles with one good tug, if you missed the tug and the fish felt any resistance it would drop the bait immediately. Missed a bunch of fish as well. Flashabou skirted jig heads and tube jigs tipped with crawlers.
Ice seemed of solid thickness 6-8 inches. 4 snowmobiles and an atv were on the ice.
Good place for some nice peace and quiet.

Me and my inlaws made it up to Lost Creek today to. The bite was just as you describe for us as well, light taps then gone. Yellow, white and green seemed to be the best colors for me today, bit that's always subject to change. Father inlaw was having trouble with his flasher so he ended up only icing a handful but as luck would have it, he was getting into the bigger fish. I ended the day with around 15 or 16 all under the slot. Ice was a solid 9-10 1/2" with a skiff to 4" of snow making for easy travel.

Got to do a little fishing and a little riding, all in all a great day!

I was under the same impression about OHV vehicles on Lost Creek as well until I talk to a officer (Travis something) about 3 months ago on the subject and he stated that snowmobiles and ATV's were permitted. I'll call DWR, Bureau of Reclamation and whoever else it takes to get to the bottom of this. If I'm breaking the law it's because I was told I could buy a man in a brown shirt.

As for the bag limit, 8 fish under the slot for 3 anglers. So it's all good.

Okay all,
I said I would get to the bottom of the OHV issue at Lost Creek and I did. When I got to work I had a message waiting from East Canyon state parks, the same good folks that patrol LC and it said “I did get a chance to talk to Morgan County, it is agreed between the sheriff and the parks system that ATV’s are allowed at Lost Creek”. The Officer that called me back was named Elizabeth and the number to EC is 801-829-6866.

If anyone got a ticket for having an ATV on LC shoot me a PM and I’ll forward this voice mail to you. Hope this helps!!!!

So much for letting the cutties get big at lost creek it will never be a strawberry with everyone keeping the smaller ones

Here's a little fish to go with your wine.[Sad]

No laws were broken in the making of this dinner.[Wink]
