Arkansas GFC Looking for Feedback on Alabama Rig
#1
LITTLE ROCK - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is gathering feedback about the use of the Alabama Rig in Arkansas. The AGFC has been conducting angler surveys on 16 lakes and 4 pools of the Arkansas River since May 2012.

In an effort to gather more angler input, the AGFC has developed a short online survey to solicit feedback. Arkansas anglers, regardless of preferred species, are encouraged to participate in the effort. The online survey is available at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/AGFCAlabamaRigSurvey.

By gathering anglers' opinions of the Alabama Rig, the AGFC can evaluate its potential impacts on fisheries in Arkansas, AGFC fisheries biologist Jeremy Risley says. "We appreciate everyone's participation in this survey. Please feel free to pass along the link to your fellow anglers who might be interested in participating in our survey," he said.

The Alabama Rig has four wire limbs extending from a main post with each limb holding a bait. The center of the wire limbs is a plastic or metal head. A straight wire extends back from the plastic head and holds a fifth bait. The limbs go out at angles and each has a clip on the end. Anglers can attach a variety of baits to it to resemble a school of baitfish.
